Lo que mas me gusta es que tiene una hermosa vista en la parte de la terraza, es increíble, lo recomiendo al 100%

El anfitrión, Tony, fue muy amable y extremadamente servicial, todo estaba limpio y me sentí muy seguro. Solo el wifi a veces era inestable.

Super excelente el lugar, Tony es una persona super servicial y hace lo mejor en comidas, así cómo también sus servicios de turismo son excelentes.

Tony es muy amable y un excelente dueño. Nos dio la bienvenida con una pequeña guía turística y una taza de té. El hotel tiene una bonita vista desde la terraza. El ambiente del lugar es pacífico y de comunidad. Los cuartos eran cómodos y estaban limpios, el baño tenía agua caliente, lo cual era importante para mí. Tony siempre estuvo dispuesto a ser servicial y a priorizar nuestra comodidad.

Muy céntrico hostal su dueño es muy amable lo más atractivo de este lugar es su terraza super bella.

Tony es un excelente administrador. Siempre muy atento a todas las necesidades y, por supuesto, siempre dispuesto a ayudar en todo.

If you're looking for more than just a night sleep, this might just be the place, or as I like to call it, a hidden gem. Easy to overlook when in the city, but behind the door lies an experience. The owner is one of the friendliest guys I've met on my trip. He welcomes you into his place and is very eager to help with all your questions regarding Cuenca, or Ecuador in its whole. He knows the good places and is willing to take the time to help you make the most of your trip. The rooms are fine, and make sure to drink a beer on the stunning roofterrace.

My group had an amazing time at El Cafecito. Tony is a super helpful and welcoming host. He gave us great suggestions for what to do in the city, and even went to lunch with us one day. The hostel served great vegan breakfast and coffee in the mornings. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I loved hanging out on the terrace. It was a great place to meet other travelers as well. The location was super central in old town, right across from a market. Cafecito was a great home base.

La terraza es genial y Tony es muy amable, te da indicaciones de todos los lugares turísticos y recomendaciones, siempre te ofrecerá té y a veces organiza almuerzos para integrar a todos.

El internet no funciona bien en las habitaciones, las cobijas son algo viejas, en el día hay mucho ruido por el mercado, y aunque es central la zona es un poco insegura.

I booked a bed in the 6-dorm dorm. The room was very spacious, the beds are comfy (maybe I would only suggest a slightly bigger pillow) and it was very clean! On the rooftop there is a kitchen and a bar and enough room to chill. The owner Tony is very hospitable and welcoming. When you arrive he will give you an explanation of the city and all the activities that you can do inside and outside of town. He will pinpoint all the places on Maps.me, so you know where they are. He also helps you with arranging activities if you need some help or suggestions. For me he helped me greatly with my trip to Cajas National Park. Tony is also a person that brings people together and he made my stay feel like a home away from home. I would highly recommend a stay at El Cafecito.

Tony was very helpful with the checking and providing places to visit while in cuenca. However the hostel itself is quite dead, there’s not much of a vibe going on and plus the rooms are very small. For a private room, the pillows are terrible - you can’t sleep well on them. The showers are missing a cap so the water sprays intensely all over. The floor gets flooded easily and it never evaporates. The hostel is also not well insulated so it gets cold at night. The location is central. The Wi-Fi is quite bad and unstable - I kept losing connection through my 3 night stay.

It is cheap and good price for a private room but only stay there if you value a rooftop view in city plaza.

Excellent location, clean and well-appointed rooms. Beautiful view from the rooftop. To cap it off you couldn’t ask for a more kind and helpful host than Tony. Great experience, thanks Tony!

Excelente el servicio. El hospedador Tony es muy amable, te explica y guía sobre los mejores lugares de Cuenca. Esta ubicado frente al mercado. Tiene una terraza con hermosa vista para disfrutarlo. Super Recomendado

Absolutely amazing experience staying at El Cafecito Hostel. The owner Tony was beyond helpful at every turn. Stayed in a private room. Hostel is 4 floors including a rooftop bar with spectacular views overlooking the city of Cuenca! Food/alcohol selections were great. Hostel is clean, safe, and is centrally located in a safe area. Tour Desk was super helpful in helping plan entire trip not only in Cuenca but in all of Ecuador. Hostel is a must stay in Cuenca!

This restaurant is a hidden gem! BEST chicken I’ve ever had along with the BEST guacamole on the planet. Everything fresh including daily fresh juices. I had the opportunity to eat at many high end restaurants including 2 in Cuenca and the food at El Cafecito is actually better and not to mention a fraction of the price. For 3$ you can eat like a king at El Cafecito, I’m serious. If I had to eat at only 1 restaurant for the rest of my life it would be El Cafecito. Great food great atmosphere great prices, period. Love it.

It is a really nice, clean and beautiful Hostel with rooftop terracce. You can easily walk to most of the sights. Also the Host Tony was always very helpful and he has a lot of tips for Cuenca and Ecuador. So you very Welcome at this place

Definitely El Cafecito will be your home away from home. Tony, the owner, is very welcoming and friendly. He is also very knowledgeable abou the city and Ecuador being able to give you recommendations on what to do and where to go in the country. Often he organizes nice dinners and activities in the hostel, a great opportunity for those willing to get to know like minded travelers. The rooftop is amazing, the rooms are clean and bed comfortable. The hostel is very well located, all the sights are a walking distance from there. Free coffee and tea all day long. I enjoyed my stay very much and I am looking forward to going back. Thank you for everything, Tony.

Prefect location, comfortable room and very hospitable host. Tony was so friendly and easy to talk to. He gave us great suggestions for things to do around Cuenca along with food suggestions and local experiences. He makes the effort to socialize everyone on the rooftop with fun games and stories. Really lovely experience.
