Akelarre Restaurant opiniones
We had various tapas and a few glasses of wine. They were attentive, friendly and even got us a chair for my wifes stuffed traveling bear. The tapas were delicious and innovative.
The Tapas is amazing. Ambiance and interior very cozy. Its inside a beautiful building, check if you can sit in the garden.
Fantastic Food! Where does one begin? They offer perhaps the best non-breaded shrimp appetizer we've ever tasted. They thinly slice fresh garlic, and cook it perfectly to maximize the flavor. If you're visiting Cuenca, Ecuador and are looking for something with a European influence from Spain, this is a wonderful spot. They offer Tapas portions which are great for not only sharing, but to allow one to sample many different dishes. They do offer some familiar North American full sized entree options which is a nice touch to help bring groups together. It's hard to be all things to all people, however their menu offerings stretch from a well prepared Club sandwich, to Fajitas, and many exotic Tapas dishes. Meals are started with freshly cut bread, and served with a house made sauce. I can't recall the names off hand, however they offer two small plates which feature fresh asparagus, and they're off the chart dynamite and delicious! We didn't realize it at first, however the restaurant is part of a beautiful hotel. Their courtyard is stunningly beautiful, and well decorated. The restrooms are perhaps among the most spacious, clean, and well stocked in South America. We've been several times, and the culinary team has never missed a beat. The service team is eager to please and during our visits has included Rocio, Wilson, and Fernando. They are all outstanding ambassadors who seem to genuinely care about the restaurant as if they were the owners. We almost forgot to mention their Sangria is loaded with freshly cut local fruit, and it's irresistibly tasty. We plan to return and will add more photos.
Comida mediocre no vuelvo nunca.
Really nice Tapas Bar albeit a bit quiet on this there bank holiday Monday. As I am now vegetarian I had Locro de Papas, a soup of potatoes and cheese with avocado and Ecuadorian cream, really tasty and to follow
Crêpe Vegetariano with mushrooms, asparagus, spinach, basil and cheese again really good. Lovely service from the friendly staff who gladly understand some English as I’m afraid I don’t understand Spanish!
Delicious spanish tapas in a beautiful restored mansion. On the front area is a tapas-bar, in the back in a glass covered atrium/patio is a very cozy restaurant. The prices are moderate (tapas from 3,50 to 12,00$, main dishes start from 10,00$). Excellent service, great food, family friendly.
